Available Positions

Post-Doctoral Fellowship – Optical Coherence Tomography

A Postdoctoral research fellowship in the area of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and clinical device R&D is available in the Hybrid Biomedical Optics Lab (York University, Canada). The fellowship focuses on development of novel photothermal imaging technologies based on OCT and radiometry for diagnostic imaging of soft and hard tissues. The fellowship can be extended up to 3 years . Job Requirements : A PhD (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field is required. Demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas is required: optical coherence tomography, optical imaging systems, optical design, optical system fabrication, fiber optic systems and components, broadband light source development, image processing and programming in LabView and Visual C++. Interested candidates should send an email to Prof. Tabatabaei (nima.tabatabaei@lassonde.yorku.ca). Please include your CV (listing 3 references) in the email.

PhD Student Position in the Field of Photo-Thermal Optical Coherence Tomography

PhD student positions are immediately available in the Hybrid Biomedical Optics Lab (York University, Canada) in the field of optical coherence tomography. HBO Lab’s vision is to overcome the diagnostic shortcomings of the conventional reflectance optical imaging methods by development and advancement of hybrid optical imaging platforms (www.HBOLab.ca). The laboratory is looking for highly motivated students with background in theoretical and experimental optics. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: OCT and optical imaging systems, optical design, lasers, fiber optics, digital signal processing, LabView or C++ programming, and circuit design. Positions are fully funded by a combination of grants and teaching activities. Students will be covered for their tuition fees and receive supplementary health/dental/vision coverage and competitive salaries. Interested students should send an email to Prof. Tabatabaei at nima.tabatabaei@lassonde.yorku.ca with “prospective student” in the subject line. Please include your CV (listing 3 references) and an unofficial copy of your transcript in the email.

HBO Lab is seeking motivated graduate students (MSc and PhD). Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: optical imaging systems, optical design, circuit design, optical system fabrication, fiber optic systems and components, optical coherence tomography, programming in LabView or C++, clinical studies with novel devices.
